We’re thrilled to announce the latest update to PaisaFlow, packed with powerful new features for credit card enthusiasts, enhanced data protection, and quality-of-life improvements that make managing your finances even smoother.
🎯 What’s New in This Update
1. Category-Specific Spend Accelerators
The Feature: Many premium credit cards offer accelerated rewards after reaching a spend threshold in specific categories. For example, your card might offer 5% cashback on groceries, but after spending ₹20,000 on groceries, it unlocks 10% cashback for the rest of the billing cycle.
How to Access:
- Go to Accounts → Select your credit card
- Tap the Power Features section
- Scroll to Spend Accelerators → Add Accelerator
- Toggle “Apply to specific category” and select your target category
The Workflow:
- Select from Billing Cycle, Calendar Month, Calendar Quarter, or Calendar Year periods
- Set your spend threshold (e.g., ₹20,000)
- Set the accelerated rate that unlocks after threshold
- PaisaFlow tracks your progress and shows when you’ve unlocked the bonus rate
- Swipe right on any cashback/reward category to quickly add an accelerator for it
Why It Matters: Cards like HDFC Diners Black, Axis Magnus, or ICICI Amazon Pay have these tiered structures. Now you can track exactly when your bonus rate kicks in.
2. Excluded Categories for Rewards
The Feature: Some spending categories (like Rent, Wallet Loads, or Insurance) typically don’t earn any rewards on credit cards. Now you can exclude them from reward calculations entirely.
How to Access:
- Go to Accounts → Select your credit card
- Tap Power Features → Edit (gear icon)
- Scroll to Excluded Categories
- Toggle on categories that shouldn’t earn rewards
Two Levels of Exclusion:
- Global Exclusions: Categories excluded from ALL reward calculations (base rate and all tiers)
- Tier-Level Exclusions: Specific categories excluded from individual cashback/reward tiers
Why It Matters: Get accurate reward estimates. Transactions in excluded categories will correctly show ₹0 rewards instead of inflated estimates.
3. Manual Reward Adjustments (Mid-Cycle Catch-Up)
The Feature: If you started using PaisaFlow mid-month (or mid-billing-cycle), you’ve already earned cashback or reward points that aren’t being tracked. This feature lets you add those earned rewards manually.
How to Access:
- Go to your credit card’s Power Features section
- Tap Cashback Estimator or Points Estimator
- Tap “Add Manual Adjustment”
The Workflow:
- Direct Entry: Enter the exact cashback/points you’ve earned
- Estimation Calculator: Enter your approximate spend, and PaisaFlow calculates the estimated rewards based on your card’s configured rates
- Category Breakdown: For more accurate estimates, enter spend by category
- Choose which billing cycle the adjustment applies to
Why It Matters: Your reward estimates reflect your TOTAL earnings for the cycle, not just what you’ve tracked in the app.
4. Quick Pick Contacts for Udhaar
The Feature: When adding a lending/borrowing (Udhaar) transaction, your most recent and most frequent contacts now appear at the top for quick selection.
How to Access:
- Go to Udhaar tab
- Tap + to add new entry
- When selecting a contact, see the Quick Pick section at the top
The Workflow:
- Recent Contacts: Last 5 unique people you’ve had Udhaar transactions with (shows “2d ago” style labels)
- Frequent Contacts: Top 5 most frequent contacts by transaction count
- One tap to select and auto-fill contact details
Why It Matters: No more scrolling through hundreds of contacts to find your roommate or the colleague you always split lunch with.
5. Enhanced Credit Card Bill Payment Options
The Feature: When paying your credit card bill, you now see payment options that mirror what you see in your banking app.
How to Access:
- Go to Accounts → Select credit card
- Tap Pay Bill
Payment Options:
- Full Outstanding: Pay entire balance (billed + unbilled) to clear the card
- Billed Amount: Pay only the statement balance that’s due
- Minimum Due: Pay minimum required (5% or ₹200, whichever is higher)
- Custom Amount: Enter any amount you choose
The Workflow:
- Select an option to pre-fill the amount
- See payment summary with new outstanding after payment
- Warnings for minimum due (interest will accrue) and insufficient funds
- Payment type is recorded in transaction notes for tracking
Why It Matters: Make informed payment decisions with clear breakdowns of what each option means.
6. Secure Card Details from Account Screen
The Feature: Add and view your secure credit card details (full card number, CVV, PIN) directly from your credit card account, without navigating to a separate Card Vault.
How to Access:
- Go to Accounts → Select credit card
- Scroll to Card Details section
- Tap “Add Card Details” or tap the mini card preview to view details
The Workflow:
- Card details are pre-filled with bank name and card name from your account
- Stored securely in iOS Keychain with Face ID/Touch ID protection
- Mini preview shows masked card number and expiry
- Expiry warnings (expired/expiring soon) displayed prominently
- One-tap access to full card details with biometric authentication
Why It Matters: Your card details are right where you need them—on your credit card account page.
7. Complete Backup & Restore Coverage
The Feature: Your backups now include EVERYTHING—all 34 data models in the app are backed up and can be restored.
Newly Added to Backup:
- Cashback Categories & Bonus Categories (reward tier configurations)
- Spend Accelerators (threshold-based reward unlocks)
- Planned Expenses (big-ticket items)
- Monthly Budget Plans (your budget configurations)
- Funding Plans (shortfall coverage plans)

How to Access:
- Go to Settings → Data → Backup & Restore

Why It Matters: Switch phones or reinstall the app with complete peace of mind. Your entire financial setup is preserved.
8. Budget Wizard Money Breakdown Redesign
The Feature: The Money Breakdown step in the Budget Setup Wizard has been completely redesigned with a clearer, step-based flow.
How to Access:
- Open the Budget Wizard from the Dashboard
- Navigate to the Money Breakdown step
The New Flow:
- Step 1: Your Current Balances – Cash, Bank, Lent Money with prominent “Reconcile Balances” button
- Step 2: Mid-Month Sync (when applicable) – Mark already received income and already paid expenses
- Step 3: Month-End Projection – Calculation card showing expected balance at month-end
Why It Matters: Clearer visual hierarchy makes it easier to understand your financial position and reconcile accounts.
9. Dial Picker for Fixed Expense Due Dates
The Feature: When adding or editing fixed expenses, the due date is now selected using a modern horizontal dial picker (same as credit card billing dates).
How to Access:
- Go to Fixed Expenses tab
- Add or edit a recurring expense
- Scroll to the Due Day field
The Workflow:
- Smooth scrolling dial with snap-to-center behavior
- Haptic feedback on each tick
- Range: 1-28 (avoiding month-end edge cases)
Why It Matters: Consistent, modern UI across the app with delightful interactions.
10. Simplified Onboarding Account Types
The Feature: New users setting up accounts during onboarding now only see Bank Account and Credit Card options—the most essential account types to get started.
How It Works:
- When adding accounts during the welcome/onboarding flow, you can add Bank Accounts or Credit Cards
- Investments, Loans, Lent Money, and other account types can be added later from within the app
- Cash account is still created automatically
- An info message explains that advanced account types are available later
Why It Matters: Reduces overwhelm for new users and gets them started faster.
11. Improved Power Features Discoverability
The Feature: The Power Features section in credit card accounts now has better visibility with prominent setup prompts.
What’s New:
- “Unlock Card Rewards” card appears when no power features are configured
- Prominent Settings button with color change (orange when unconfigured, accent when configured)
- Info callout in Add Account view explains that advanced features can be configured after creation
Why It Matters: New credit card users are guided to discover and set up reward tracking features.
12. Bulk Reconciliation Adjustment Mode
The Feature: When bulk reconciling your accounts, you can now choose between creating visible adjustment transactions or silently updating balances.
How to Access:
- Go to Accounts
- Tap the reconcile icon in the toolbar
- Choose “Create Transactions” or “Balance Only”
The Workflow:
- Create Transactions: Creates visible adjustment transactions for a full audit trail
- Balance Only: Silently updates balances without creating transactions (cleaner history)
Why It Matters: Choose the reconciliation style that fits your preferences for record-keeping.
13. Widget Opens Full Add Transaction View
The Feature: The home screen widget now opens the full Add Transaction view when tapped, matching the behavior of the Action Button and Siri shortcuts.
Previous Behavior: Widget opened a “Quick Add” bar with preset amounts
New Behavior: Widget opens the complete Add Transaction modal
Widget Sizes:
- Small: Plus icon with “Add Transaction” and “Tap to record”
- Medium: Plus icon with description and chevron
- Large: Plus icon with Income/Expense/Transfer labels
Why It Matters: Consistent experience whether you use the widget, Action Button, or Siri.
🐛 Bug Fixes
Device Family Fix
Issue: App Store Connect was showing “Device Family: iPhone, iPad” even though the app is designed for iPhone only.
Fix: Corrected the TARGETED_DEVICE_FAMILY settings in the Xcode project for all targets.
Limited Transaction Display in Accounts
Issue: Account detail pages with many transactions became too long to scroll comfortably.
Fix: Now shows only 5 transactions with a “View All X Transactions” button that opens a dedicated list view.
